    Sincere or fake

Read Jaron's blog and I have to admit that some of the stuff he mentioned are so true. More often that not, whatever praises that someone who has a crush on you vanished into thin air the moment that feeling of liking is gone. Speaking of maturity, these people are just not capable of handling any relationship.

How many of you have experience someone who blatantly claim to (even) love you when they don't even understand the true meaning of love? Real love exists when your feeling for a particular person remain unchanged even if the feeling has evolved to only one-sided. It's just like how the love of a mother to her son will never fade regardless of how much the son hates her or a wife of an useless husband choose to continue to stick to him though everyone else is advising her to give up on the relationship.

Next, there's indeed a very thin line between someone who constantly need to receive positive recognition from people around him or her versus someone who doesn't sought for praises but yet duly deserve it. All of us know that every now and then, it does feel good to be praised. This usually results in giving us the motivation to do even better. Think of how an infant learn to walk, a puppy learn to be toilet trained or a new employee picking up skills in a new company.

Ultimately, it leads down to the sincerity of the person praising. However, the sad truth is, the praises always get lesser as we grow older. How many of us have actually praise someone we really care for sincerely in the last one month? I guess most of us have to think real hard before coming out with an answer.

A person who constantly needs to receive praises in order to have confidence is indeed pathetic. Likewise, a mature person should know how to receive praises as much as how to accept criticism. Of course, with that said, one have to remember that both praises as well as criticisms can be also be sincere or insincere. As much fake praises there may be, there are also tons of people who resort to unscrupulous criticisms to bring someone down.

End of the day, one can only depend on oneself to gauge the sincerity of all the positive or negative comments others have given to them. I guess there's where maturity plays a big role.
